CAMP Student Organization

CAMP at the University of California, Riverside strengthens STEM pathways for students from by providing resources, opportunities, and information that focuses on how to successfully navigate science and engineering.

The CAMP Student Organization has no requirements to participate and attend meetings, it is open to all UCR undergraduate students!

Class Standing: 4th Year

Major: Bioengineering

Current Research: I am part of the Wheeldon Lab in the Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering. I engineered non-conventional yeast strains including Yarrowia lipolytica and Kluyveromyces marxianus to enhance metabolic activity and integrate PYR1 biosensors for chemical sensing applications. I also constructed biosensor systems in bacterial species such as Paraburkholderia and Pseudomonas putida to target analytes like coumarins, agrochemicals, and plant hormones to contribute to the development of versatile biosensing platforms for environmental and industrial use.
