Student Organization Information

CAMP at the University of California, Riverside strengthens STEM pathways for students from underrepresented populations by providing resources, opportunities, and information that focuses on how to successfully navigate science and engineering.

The CAMP program has a three-pronged approach:

  • Successfully transition into postsecondary education
  • Achieve academic excellence during college
  • Prepare students for graduate school and/or their desired professional career


For funding, students must meet the following criteria:

  1. African American, Chicano, Latino, Native American, or Pacific Islander
  2. Be a declared Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major ? CNAS or BCOE @ UCR
  3. Full-time second-year, or rising third, fourth, or fifth year UC Riverside student in good academic standing (transfer students currently at UC Riverside are encouraged to apply)
  4. Have and maintain at least a 2.7 UC cumulative GPA
  5. U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

CAMP Student-run club has no requirements to participate and attend meetings, to join the mailing list and receive invitations and opportunities please fill out the CAMP Membership form

  • Summer Research Program provides students the opportunity to work closely with a faculty mentor during the summer – Paid up to $5,000.00!
  • Scholars may receive quarterly and summer research stipends (scholars only) 
  • Scholars participate in a UC-Wide CAMP Symposium, the Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, and other conferences and symposia 
  • Fully active participants are Bridge to the Doctorate eligible 
  • Graduate school application fee waivers!
  • All Benefits are contingent on active participation of members
