Bridge to Doctorate

UC Riverside's Bridge to the Doctorate

A hallmark in UCR's Undergraduate STEM Research

Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation
UCR's Bridge to the Doctorate [BD] program is a National Science Foundation initiative and grant designed to enhance the preparation of Underrepresented Minority students for graduate study, in particular, doctoral careers.

Cohort IX of the Bridge to the Doctorate program is a 1 Million dollar grant that will fund the initial two years of graduate study at Phase VI LSAMP Alliance institutions. This activity will broaden participation through the attraction of underrepresented minority students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Additionally, this activity seeks to remove minority students' hesitancy about entering graduate school, and the fear of creating additional financial indebtedness associated with initial graduate education. This grant was administered by the California Alliance for Minority Participation [CAMP] and managed locally by UCR's CAMP program for 2012/2013 applicants.

The Bridge to the Doctorate program rotates UC campuses every year. Please visit again soon for updated information for 2017/2018.
