CAMP Eligibility

CAMP's Programming is supported by the National Science Foundation and is designed to provide academic and financial support for research, travel to conferences and scientific meetings, and internships. To be eligible for CAMP-UCR, participants must have a declared major in the College of Engineering or the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences. CAMP support is based and selected from among the NSF-stipulated underrepresented students in the STEM fields. CAMP serves UCR students who have declared in their registration (i.e. on GROWL, iLearn, and the Registrar's office) to be Black (African-American), Hispanic, Native American, and non-Filipino-Native Pacific Islander.

Participation

Anyone in the STEM fields can participate

Students in either CNAS or BCOE are eligible

Students must be focused on research and aim toward graduate education (MS/PhD/MD-PhD)

 *Note - to receive funding from the National Science Foundation students must meet all the requisites described under CAMP Eligibility. 

How to Join

CAMP participants are required to be engaged in the program on a yearly-basis. Each new academic year, CAMP-eligible students must fill out an application in order to join.

Simply signing up for the program does not constitute participation. Members must be active, attend all meetings, conferences, etc in order to remain in good standing and be eligible to apply for financial support

For the academic year (2017-2018) please submit the membership application become a new member or renew your status from last year.

CAMP is funded through the National Science Foundation and the University of California - there are no costs associated with this program.

CAMP offers its approved participants the option of checking out textbook and/or net book resources for a limited time and depending upon availability.  Click on the following link to see the list of available textbooks.  Eligible students must submit a resource application to check out the available items.
